About Us
Welcome to Arden Country House located in the historic Royal Burgh of Linlithgow, within the central lowlands of Scotland. Built in 2001, this traditional but modern country house has been welcoming guests since 2002 and strives to meet guests needs and expectations. Awarded 5 gold stars and multiple other awards, Arden is surrounded by farmland, offering guests a picturesque, tranquil, rural retreat whilst only 2 miles from the centre of Linlithgow, 16 miles from Edinburgh, 20 minutes from Stirling and 45 minutes from Glasgow. The excellent road and rail network ensures that Arden is ideally located when visiting central Scotland and beyond.
Steeped in history, Linlithgow is most commonly known as the birth place of Mary Queen of Scots, the home to Linlithgow Palace and the stunning Loch that surrounds the Palace. Linlithgow is said to mean "loch in a damp hollow ". Llyn (loch), laith (damp) and cau (a hollow) and for those who visit, there is an instant understanding as they stroll around the stunning Loch. Blackness Caste, Annette Museum, House of Binns, Hopetoun House, the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel are all within easy reach and are just few of the delights that await visitors.
